Extraction & Insertion of Memories

This piece is a set of 12 photographic etchings. The first set of 6 etchings represents people's desire to retain memories. This stems from the idea of choice and the ability to choose which memories we would want to retain and remember. The following set of 6 etchings speaks about extraction and how memories are lost. This connects to the idea that people wish they could extract and forget certain events in life. Overall, the entire piece addresses how the choice to keep or lose memories is out of our hands as humans. Memory selection, remembrance, and loss is guided by and chosen for us by our subconscious .
